That new time lapse video is awesome! What webcam and software are you using to create it? Cheers!
Replied on: 21:17 29-09-2011

Hi Liam, thanks, it's a Y-Cam White IP camera in an external weatherproof housing - I would highly recommend it. Most aspects of my site are produced by Weather Display software.

Great site! I love the Twitter reports - its really useful to see what's happening in Salisbury in real time as the forecasts aren't always accurate!
Replied on: 12:14 19-06-2011

Thanks Geoff - did you know that each Twitter report also includes the current webcam image? I find this useful when I'm not in town.

It's nice to see the weather in the birthplace of my second favorite actor, Anthony Daniels.

Thank you so much for this web cam with temperature - it is really interesting to compare the actual weather to bbc forecast- I live in Scotland at the moment

Thanks Bob, it took a lot of setting up but as meteorology is my passion it's all been worthwhile, and comments like yours are much appreciated.

An excellent Website.
Fully endorsed and highly recommended by the forecasters and staff at Met Office, Larkhill.

Very useful to have an "eye on the sky" to the south of Salisbury Plain for producing forecasts here at Larkhill and to know how things are looking for when we get home (most of our forecasters live in Salisbury).

That's some endorsement, thanks Salisbury Plain Met Men (& women)! Great to know The Professionals find the site useful.

Great website SpireWeather,

It is now a daily source of reference for me! I also like the smartphone friendly version that now has a bookmark on my iPhone homepage.

Hello again. Tell me what's a 'Dew Point?'
Replied on: 20:34 28-01-2011

Hi again Maureen, it's the temperature at which dew forms - the lower the humidity (as now), the colder it has to be before dew (and frost) forms. Hope that answers your question.

Hi Maureen,
Congratulations on being the first to sign the guestbook!
Can't promise much snow but it is going to get colder & we may see the odd flurry on Thursday.
